Any chance that AN3 will run on Linux or is there a Linux version in the future?

| Yes The AyaNova database can use the Linux Firebird Server instead of the Windows Firebird Server. The AyaNova program files are Windows only compatible though Specific configuration steps if using the Linux Firebird Server as not in the AyaNova v3 Manual, but if you are familiar with Linux, the steps are similar to those of the steps for configuring the Windows Firebird Server in the AyaNova v3 Manual Download the Linux Firebird Server (SuperServer) available for download from http://firebird.sourceforge.net/index.php?op=files&id=engine (same link provide where you would download the Windows Firebird Server installation file) You would download and install the SuperServer for Linux version 1.5.3
Review the steps in the AyaNova v3 Manual "Installation of AyaNova Using Network Firebird Database Server" starting page 546 so you have an overview of what the steps would be if it was a Windows server. I am not a guru with Linux, but it is the same basic premise as that outlined in the manual for the Windows Firebird Server configuration would need to be applied other than what is specific to a Windows installation - in that you would move the AyaNova database file AYANOVA.FDB to the Linux server, install the Firebird Server, configure it so that it is accessing the AYANOVA.FDB file, and than on a windows networked computer you would point to the Linux server in the AyaNova.exe.config file. And than all networked computers would have the AyaNova program files copied to their local harddrive so they too can connect to the database on the Linix server. - Joyce
