An interesting issue just arose ... One of my clients was set up using SQL Express and Ayanova V4. They are downsizing office operations and removing their server from the equation. Is there any way to get the data from SQL Express back to the default AYANOVA.FDB file so that they do not lose anything?

No, once a database is converted up to SQL (whether it is Express or Server), we do not provide a utility to convert the SQL database back down to Firebird's AYANOVA.FDB. It is quite a complex and involved thing to do so. If you have developer experience, you could develop a utility using the API to create your own utility to do this
